Studies* point that when compared with other impediments to international trade, the movement of labor is by a wide margin the largest opportunity to develop the world's economy. Moving to a high-efficiency economy multiplies an individual's productivity and brings significant economic benefits for the host country.

At an individual level, migrating is a defining decision in life. It opens  a multitude of personal opportunities and induces change in one's view of the world.

A key step in this journey is the authorisation to migrate, or visas.

After going through some visa journeys in Germany ourselves and struggling with the uncertainties, we started Peninsula to support others in the same situation.

Why "Peninsula"?

Peninsulas are islands connected to mainland, or "almost islands". The word comes from two latin words: "paene", meaning "almost" and "insula", meaning "island".

Being a foreigner and facing the visa process alone can feel isolating, a bit like an island. It's not by coincidence that "isolation" and "island" share the same latin root, "insula".

By supporting you in your visa application, we would like to create that strong connection to a new mainland, thus transforming islands into peninsulas.
